Moving sidewalk

According to the structure, it can be divided into stepping moving sidewalk (similar to slat conveyor), belt type moving sidewalk (similar to belt conveyor) and double-line moving sidewalk. In order to achieve the purpose of commonality and economy with escalator parts, the step structure and the same handrail structure are often used. The handrails should run synchronously with the movable road surface to ensure the safety of passengers. The moving speed, road width and conveying capacity of the moving sidewalk are similar to those of the escalator, and the large inclination angle generally does not exceed 12°.

1. Classified by armrest decoration

1) Fully transparent type: Refers to the moving walkway made of transparent glass for the handrail guard. According to the shape of the glass, it can be further divided into curved glass type and flat glass type.

2) Opaque type: Refers to the moving walkway made of opaque metal or other materials for the handrail guard. Because the handrail bracket is fixed on the upper part of the wall guard, and the handrail moves cyclically on the rail of the handrail bracket, the stability of the opaque type is better than that of the fully transparent type. Mainly used for moving walkways with large heights such as subways, stations, wharfs, etc. where people are concentrated.

3) Semi-transparent type: refers to the armrest guard siding is translucent, such as the handrail guard siding made of translucent glass.

As far as handrail decoration is concerned, the fully transparent glass wall panel has a certain strength, and its thickness should not be less than 6mm. In addition, the fully transparent glass wall panel has a better decorative effect, so the wall panel is made of automatic flat transparent glass. Sidewalks account for the vast majority.

2. Moving walkways are classified by tread structure

1) Pedal type: The treads on which passengers stand are moving walks made of metal or other materials with toothed plates on the surface.

2) Tape type: The tread surface where passengers stand is a moving walkway with a continuous steel belt covered with a rubber layer.

Belt-type moving walks are balanced in operation, but have high manufacturing and use costs, and are suitable for long-distance moving walks with higher speeds. The most common one is the stepped moving sidewalk.
